Assistant Professor

Department of Communication
My name is Prateekshit Pandey [pruh-TEEK-shit PAHN-day] (he/him), and I prefer my nickname “Kanu” [KUH-noo].
I am curious about the role of humor, entertainment, and creativity in our everyday lives and how these elements shape our understanding of our complex worlds. I explore these curiosities with a comparative lens between the US and India, and with an evolving toolkit that combines my backgrounds in computer science, social neuroscience, communication, and improvisational comedy. Read more about my research here.
My research team, Creative Citizenship Lab, leads efforts on innovative multi-methodological and multi-modal research projects at the intersection of citizenship, humor, and politics.
